Night Climbing is out now

My second novel, Night Climbing, is published today! Inspired by (though not a retelling of) the true story of the ‘Black Forest Tragedy’, it’s a book about love, family and the fear and uncertainty of people still getting over a war, and contemplating another one. The publisher’s blurb is below - if you enjoy it, please do leave a review.

When Sylvia’s son, Cyril, vanishes during a perilous school trek in the German mountains, her world crumbles. A pre-trip postcard from Cyril hints that his teacher – now lauded for his rescue efforts – knew more about the stormy conditions than he has admitted. Sylvia shifts from frantic mother to justice seeker.

Meanwhile in Hofsgrund, a German mountain village, Nazi flags and Hitler Youth parades are rapidly appearing, and Hilde senses life’s irreversible change. The English schoolboys’ rescue shakes the community, sparking political strife. Neighbour turns on neighbour, endangering Hilde and Sylvia’s quest for Cyril.

Jane Eyre on Social Media is out today!

My second outing with fellow author and niche pun enthusiast Claire McGowan is out today! If you’ve ever wondered what Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester’s WhatsApp chats would have looked like, or how her friends and fellow governesses would respond to the frankly enormous red flags throughout their burgeoning romance, this one’s for you…

Reader, she married him. But not before a LOT of discussion of his behaviour on the group chat.

With courage, determination and logged into her social media accounts - plain Jane Eyre is ready to take on the world. But then she meets and begins to fall for Edward Rochester, AKA the definition of a red flag, with screenshots to prove it.

When authors Claire McGowan and Sarah Day imagined how 'Pride and Prejudice on Social Media' might look, retelling the story through mocked-up social media posts, their post instantly went viral. Now, they return with a Bronte classic told through highs and lows of social media . . .

Pride and Prejudice on Social Media is out now!

After a year or so of making each other laugh repeatedly via a shared google document (co writing in a pandemic is HARD), we’ve finally reached P&P publication day! It’s lovely to see our little lockdown project out in the wild - hope it provides some much needed light relief in trying times!

Elizabeth Bennet has politely declined your friend request and asks that you do not slide into her DMs again.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, will probably be verified on social media. The characters of Pride and Prejudice are navigating the same struggles on unfamiliar channels - social media channels, to be precise.
